NMU, Michigan Tech skaters sign pro hockey contracts

Since their respective 2025-26 seasons have concluded a number of Central Collegiate Hockey Association student-athletes have signed professional contracts with National Hockey League teams and their minor league affiliates.
According to the CCHA, players from Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan University who have signed since March 8 include (listed alphabetically):
— Jack Anderson (St. Louis, Mo.), Michigan Tech defenseman, signed entry-level contract with Dallas Stars (NHL).
— Kyle Bettens (Winnipeg, Man.) Northern Michigan forward, signed standard player contract with Indy Fuel (ECHL).
— Tynan Ewart (Duncan, B.C.), Northern Michigan defenseman, signed amateur tryout agreement with Maine Mariners (ECHL).
— Caiden Gault (Oakbank, Man.), Northern Michigan forward, signed standard player contract with Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL).
— Joe Prouty (Burnsville, Minn.), Michigan Tech defenseman, signed standard player contract with Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL).
Anderson’s 2-year contract with the Stars totals $2.1 million, according to puckpedia.com. He’ll report to AHL Texas on a tryout to finish the season before his NHL contract goes into effect for 2026-27.
