The Niagara Northern Stars Soccer Club U19 coed team won first place in its U19 Boys Division at the Wisconsin Spring Classic in Wisconsin Dells.
Northern Stars went 2-0-1 through the weekend tournament, defeating Sauk Prairie 2-0, tying Middleton United 1-1 and blanking McFarland 4-0.
Jonah Nelson netted four goals and Anthony Pineda scored two.
“It really was a team effort with a lot of creative attacking,” said coach Melinda Grymes. “Gavin Kinsella is a quiet force on the field and was instrumental in the build-up of so many of our goals.”
Assists also came from Pineda, Colin Micheau, Evan Grymes, and Clark Robb. Goalie Landon Adam recorded 2 shutouts.

“Colin (Micheau), Tom Nelson, Cade Davy, and Dylan Lucas held down our defense,” Grymes said. “I have been coaching many of these players since they were 13 and it has been so awesome to watch them grow over the years and add another medal to our record,” she added. “We have strong players in every position on the field and this year we’ve also had two new players join from Delta County and one from Felch to deepen our bench.”
