Rangers nip Badgers softball
Wausaukee scored a run in the top of the first inning and went on to defeat Niagara 1-0 in an M&O Conference softball game Monday at Niagara.
“It was a defensive battle,” said Niagara coach Emily Payette. “We were putting the bat on the ball and they were making plays.”
Keaghan Stumbris pitched the shutout for Wausaukee, allowing two hits and six walks. She struck out five.
Elesia Sweig pitched the first five innings for the Badgers. Paige Guardiola worked two hitless innings in relief.
Alivia Kleikamp and Jaelyn Kleikamp hit singles for Niagara, who left six on base.
The Badgers (2-5) will host Florence on Friday.
