Badgers top Rangers 9-6
Alivia Kleikamp drove in three runs with a double and single and Paige Guardiola laced three singles as Niagara defeated Wausaukee 9-6 in M&O Conference softball Friday.
“The team battled back from a 0-4 deficit and kept fighting to bring home the win,” said Niagara coach Emily Payette. “The girls are coming together as a team and everyone did their part to secure this conference win.”
Zowie Loukus and Grace Payette added two singles each for the Badgers. Elesia Sweig and India Varda also had hits.
Sweig pitched the first four innings, allowing eight hits, six runs (four earned) and walking two. She struck out four.
Guardiola pitched the final three innings, keeping the Rangers scoreless on two hits and two walks. Guardiola fanned three.
Wausaukee’s Keaghan Stumbris and Skyler Betts each had a double and two singles.
Stumbris pitched a complete game for the Rangers, whiffing seven.
Niagara hosts Iron Mountain on Tuesday for a doubleheader.
