Kingsford edged Houghton for the boys title and Negaunee dominated the girls meet at the MHSAA Upper Peninsula Division 1 regional track event hosted by the Flivvers on Wednesday.

The top four finishers in each regional event qualify for the Upper Peninsula Finals taking place Saturday, May 30, at Flivver Field.

Along with Kingsford and Negaunee, three other teams competed — Houghton, Westwood and Calumet.

Placing first for Kingsford in the boys meet were:

— Blake Tomasoski in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.

— Sid Olson in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles.

— Gaige Sorenson, Zahir Topping, Jaricho Hudson and Jack Olson in the 800-meter relay.

— Sorenson in the long jump.

— Jaron Brown Jr. in the high jump.

Placing first for Kingsford in the girls meet were:

— Maria Murvich in the 1600-meter run.

— Cassie Olson in the discus.

— Mylee Kreider in the long jump.
