Just a handful of opponents’ runs kept Florence, Niagara and Goodman-Pembine from advancing Tuesday in the WIAA Division 5 softball tournament.

Playing at home, Florence fell 6-4 to Elcho, while Niagara was edged 4-2 by Wausau Newman Catholic.

Goodman-Pembine lost 8-5 at Tigerton.

Wausaukee, meanwhile, advanced in its opener with a 4-3 win over Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy. The Rangers will host Marion in a regional semifinal Tuesday.
