FHS’s Chrisman qualifies for WIAA state track meet

Florence High School sophomore Kelsi Chrisman will compete this weekend in the WIAA Division 3 State Track and Field tournament in La Crosse, Wis.
The Northwoods Storm (Florence-Niagara) sprinter qualified Friday at the sectional meet in Hilbert in the 100-meter dash, running a personal best 13.0 seconds and placing fourth.
Chrisman advanced to the sectional meet by placing first in the 100 meters as regional champion at Suring on May 26. She also advanced to the sectional meet in the 200-meter dash and 4×100 relay, placing 8th in the 200 and 12th in the relay at Hilbert.
Joining Chrisman in the relay were Lily Steinbrecher, Kylie Westrich and Tymarian Hannah.
Chrisman is the lone qualifier for the state meet from the Northwoods Storm.
Other Northwoods Storm competitors at the sectional meet in Hilbert included:
— Christian Anderson, 7th in the boys 800.
— Zane Phillips, 12th in the boys 400.
— Jaxon Courts, 12th in the boys 1600 and 12th in the boys 3200.
— Phillips, Anderson, Court and Clayton Schroeder, seventh in the boys 4×800 relay.
— Anderson, Schroeder, Phillips and Conner Guardiola, 15th in the boys 4×400 relay.
— Ina Holt, 12th in the girls 800 and 14th in the girls 1600.
— Lily Steinbrecher, Alaina Cadiente, Brooke Bruemmer and Tymarian Hannah, 14th in the girls 4×200 relay.
