All-UP baseball teams selected

Norway’s Owen Baij and Cameron Varda and Kingsford’s Jack Kriegl earned spots on the Upper Peninsula baseball Dream Team announced by the Cold Weather Baseball Coaches Alliance.
In addition to landing on the Dream Team, Baij was named Player of the Year in Division 4.
Escanaba’s Lennox Peacock was Player of the Year in Division 1-3.
Varda, an outfielder, was joined on the Division 4 First Team by North Dickinson’s Trenton Kramer, catcher, and Jason Graham, infielder.
Kriegl was selected as a utility player on the Division 1-3 First Team, joined by Kingsford outfielder Logan Grondin.

Norway outfielders Elliott Kraemer, Carter Cazzola and Tobi Anderson earned Second Team selections in Division 4, joined by Norway pitcher Hunter Langin, North Dickinson pitcher Luke Grunlund and North Central infielder Kaden Malone.
Iron Mountain pitcher Connor Pickett and Kingsford infielder Jonah Doenier received Second Team honors in Division 1-3.
Joining Baij, Varda and Kriegl on the Dream Team were Escanaba’s Peacock and Mikaiden Hughes; Negaunee’s Owen Cardinal and Tristan Slater; Painesdale-Jeffers’ Brogan Turner; Hancock’s Ben Karanen; Gogebic’s CJay Wainio; and Pickford’s Carter Rye.
In Division 4, Norway’s Bob Amundson, Brett Baij and Randy VanGasse were name co-Assistant Coaches of the Year. Coach of the Year in Division 4 was Joe Romano of Painesdale-Jeffers.
The Division 1-3 Coach of the Year was Escanaba’s Scott Hansen. Co-Assistant Coaches of the Year in Division 1-3 were Nels Paul and Alex Putnam of Hancock.
