City Park hosts bocce’s UP Open

IRON MOUNTAIN -- Six teams competed for top honors as the Dickinson Area Bocce Association hosted the U.P. Open at Iron Mountain City Park's Ray Mariucci Courts.
Claiming first place with a perfect 5-0 record in the tournament held earlier this month was the team of Larry Evanoff, Sarah Stanton and Dave Mangone.
Posting a 4-1 effort, and finishing second, was the team of Jim Javoroski, Gary Pisoni and Mark Gasperini.
Next on the DABA tournament schedule is the Open Doubles event on Saturday, Aug. 15.
In weekly competition, there’s little separation atop the standings in all three DABA leagues at City Park. The standings follow:
