Felch Field will be the site for the Michigan Little League Juniors (ages 13-14) state tournament beginning Friday, with Iron Mountain representing District 10.
A win over Gladstone sent Iron Mountain to the state tourney following three days of District 10 action at LiUNA Field.
Gladstone fell 13-3 to Kingsford on Wednesday after allowing eight runs in the first inning.
Kingsford’s Maddox Paoli had a lead-off single and advanced to second on an error. Connor Chrisman then drove in Paoli on a single and later scored on a passed ball to put Kingsford up 2-0.
Cam Trepainer added to Kingsford’s lead on a two-run single to put Kingsford up 4-0. Brody Daffen also had an RBI-single and Liam Stromberg brought in a run on a bases loaded walk to put Kingsford up 6-0. Dom Tatangelo also had a two-run single that put Kingsford up 8-0.

Chrisman got the win for Kingsford, allowing three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
“I knew with the big lead I could afford some walks,” Chrisman said. “I was using a mix of curveballs, changeups and fastballs and just kept them guessing.”
Gladstone’s Trey Knuth had an RBI-single in the second inning and Scout Rosinski scored on a RBI-single by Colton Hughes. Landon Stearns scored on a RBI-single by Eliot Bosk in the fourth inning, but that is all Gladstone could muster.
Iron Mountain defeated Kingsford 22-6 in a winner’s bracket game on Thursday and Gladstone kept its season alive with a 7-6 win over Kingsford in an elimination game that went eight innings.
Iron Mountain then prevailed in Friday’s district finals.
The tentative state tournament schedule has Iron Mountain meeting Emmett at 3 p.m. Friday at Felch Field. Pool play runs through Sunday, July 19, with four teams advancing to a single-elimination championship round Monday. Semifinals are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, July 20, with the title game at 4 p.m.
