The Kingsford Greens American Legion baseball team is battling through the loser's bracket at the Michigan Class A state tournament in Adrian.
The Greens, who are the defending state champions, dropped their Thursday opener 5-2 to North Branch.
Two wins on Friday advanced the Greens to an elimination game at 10 a.m. Eastern time today. A victory in that game would put the Greens into the championship round at 1:30 p.m. today, with a win also needed at 1:30 p.m. Sunday to claim the state title.
The Greens' games will be broadcast live on WZNL-FM (94.3 The Breeze).
On Friday, Kingsford's Trent McLain and Jack Kriegl each had three hits to back winning pitcher Mason Koski in a 10-3 victory over Stevensville-Lakeshore.
Cameron Varda earned the mound win in an 8-2 triumph Friday over Hudson.
Varda, Andres Finley and Colin Olsen slashed two hits apiece to lead the offense.
