Stankowicz, Pontbriand post Late Model wins at Norway

The stars were shining and the action was intense on July 10 as Norway Speedway hosted RIZE Night, featuring the Coca-Cola Late Models, Super Stocks, 141 Auto Sportsman, Whelen Fab 4, and the exciting Sport Trucks. Fans were treated to close racing, dramatic finishes, and several standout performances across all divisions at the historic 1/3-mile asphalt oval in Norway.

Qualifying in the Coca-Cola Late Models saw a pair of Joeys atop the speed charts as Joey Stankowicz blistered the track with a fast lap of 14.531 seconds, edging Joey Pontbriand and Scott Stanchina.

In Twin Feature No. 1, Joey Pontbriand drove to victory ahead of Jeremy Yelle and Scott Stanchina. Twin Feature #2 belonged to Joey Stankowicz, who held off Pontbriand and Cory Cootware.

Stankowicz was able to capture his first feature win of his career at the speedway. Pontbriand netted his 65th career feature win.

The Superstocks delivered another thrilling pair of twin features.

141 Auto Sportsman division once again produced some of the closest racing of the night. BJ Schoneck earned fast time honors with an impressive lap of 18.219 seconds, just ahead of Carol Graves and Jon Maenpaa.

Heat race victories went to Travis Hulsizer and Gary Thom, setting the stage for a competitive feature.

In the A-Feature, Troy LaFave charged to victory after surviving several challenges throughout the race. Travis Hulsizer finished a strong second, while Alex Reed completed the podium.

The Whelen Fab 4 division was led in qualifying by defending ace Cody Gunville, who posted a fast lap of 18.255 seconds.

Heat race action saw Brent Ayotte and Cody Gunville each earn victories, setting up a highly anticipated feature.

In the A-Feature, Ayotte continued his outstanding night by capturing another victory. Gunville crossed the line second, while Devin Farrah rounded out the top three.

The Wisconsin Sport Trucks were led in qualifying by defending by Tom Gee Jr. who posted a fast lap of 16.681 seconds.

Heat race victory went to Tom Gee Jr.

Feature winner also went to Tom Gee Jr., who dominated the night with a clean sweep.

Speedway action was canceled on Friday night but a full slate is scheduled for Fan Appreciation Night on July 24.
