DABA’s doubles tourney draws 16 bocce teams

IRON MOUNTAIN -- Lucas Cavalieri and Dave Antonetti took first place among 16 teams that competed in a doubles tournament hosted by the Dickinson Area Bocce Association.

Cavalieri and Antonetti prevailed over Jo Ellison and Sheldon Ellison in the championship match at Iron Mountain City Park.

In the semifinals, they handed Jim Javoroski and Eddie St. Arnauld a 12-5 loss. In the other semifinal, the Ellisons got by Joe Fittante and Mike Cimarelli 12-10.

Cavalieri and Antonetti were down 9-5 in the finals, but reeled off the next seven points to claim the title. Javoroski and St. Arnauld whitewashed Fittante and Cimarelli 12-0 for third place.
