Niagara went 3-0 to win a quadrangular volleyball match at Gillett on Thursday.
The Lady Badgers defeated Bowler 25-17, 25-12, 25-18 and followed that with a 25-14, 25-18, 27-25 sweep against Wausaukee.
Against the hosts, Niagara prevailed 3-2 by scores of 25-14, 14-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12.
"The seniors settled into their roles as seniors and challenged the team to fight through fatigue as this was a long week for us," said Niagara coach Maryellen Allred. "I was very impressed with our aggressive serving. Our offense finally came to life, being led at the net by Bristol Sanicki with 26 kills and Peyton Allred at 21 kills."
Grace Payette registered 21 service aces on the day, while Sydney Swanson contributed 12.
Junior Lily Steinbrecher also led the offense, racking up 56 assists.
On defense, both Allred and Payette picked up over 30 digs each.
"Our defense was motivated and scrappy," Allred said.
At the Crivitz Invitational on Tuesday, Niagara went 2-2.
"We used our opening tournament date as time to experiment with our lineup," coach Allred said.
The Badgers defeated Mercer 25-18, 25-17 and Goodman-Pembine, 25-12, 25-15.
The losses came against Peshtigo, 14-25, 12-25, and Green Bay Southwest, 22-25, 25-23, 4-15.
Allred led with 17 kills, while Jaelyn Kleikamp had 11 kills and 29 digs. Steinbrecher had 32 assists.
"The girls fought through the day with a desire to win and make adjustments for the betterment of the team," Allred said.
Norway 3
Bark River-Harris 0
Playing on the road Thursday, Norway swept Bark River-Harris 25-17, 25-13, 25-16.
Coach Meghan Rossato was pleased with the Knights' serving as the team chalked up 19 aces. Leading the charge was Kendall Burklund with seven, while Tessa Castelaz had five. "The team has been putting in a lot of time and hard work this summer, so I was happy we were able to start off our season coming in aggressive at the serving line and net," Rossato said. "Chloe Chartier had six kills and was powerful at the net with blocks and attempted blocks."
Kendall Burklund and Addy Burklund contributed 5 kills each. Aili Freiberg totaled 16 assists.
"I'm excited to see where the girls take this season," Rossato said. "Everyone was able to get playing time and everyone had a shining moment. Emilee Temrowski is in a brand new position this year and I thought she did exceptionally well. These girls have a passion and a fire, just proud of them and to be a part of it," she said.
