North Dickinson scored twice in the second quarter in a 48-14 varsity football loss at Pickford on Friday. The hosts led 30-14 at halftime.
Early in the second quarter, North Dickinson’s Xavier Remer ran it in from 24 yards and Luke Grunlund threw to Jason Graham for the two-point conversion.
The second score came on a 72-yard run by Graham, shortly after Trenton Kramer recovered a Pickford fumble. The conversion failed.
Graham led the Nordics with 127 yards rushing and 24 receiving. He also led the team with 15 solo tackles and 11 assists.
The Nordics ended the evening with 288 yards of offense -- 166 rushing and 122 passing.
North Dickinson (0-1) travels Thursday to Superior Central for its Great Lakes Eight Conference-East opener. The Cougars lost to Stephenson 62-30 in a conference game Friday.
