Iron Mountain racked up 445 yards of offense and rolled past L’Anse 42-22 in a West-Pac Iron 11-player game Friday.
Brayden Kassin completed 10 of 14 passes for 198 yards and four TDs for the visiting Mountaineers.
“Gavin Winters, Quinton Doty, and Ethan Davis did a nice job running the ball for us,” said Iron Mountain coach Kyle Johnson. “They controlled the game right along with our offensive line. We also won the turnover battle coming up with three interceptions.”
Winters rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown and added two receptions for 86 yards. Doty totaled 87 yards on the ground in 10 attempts and hauled in five passes for 65 yards and two scores.
Davis ran four times for 50 yards and caught a 36-yard touchdown. Connor Pickett also had a 36-yard TD reception and Charles Anderson had two catches for 11 yards.
Defensive leaders included Marcus Lindgren, six solo tackles; Winters, four solo tackles and an interception; Doty, an interception and a fumble recovery; Kassin, an interception; and Kevin Sgrecci, a fumble recovery.
“I was happy with our performance in L’Anse, but we still have some things to clean up on both sides of the ball and we will continue to get better every week,” Johnson said.
L’Anse fell to 2-1 in the conference and 2-2 overall.
The Mountaineers (2-1, 2-2) go to Manistique (1-2, 2-2) on Friday.

Jessiah Smith hit paydirt on a 7-yard run for West Iron on Friday, but the visiting Manistique Emeralds did all of the scoring after that.
Smith finished with 30 yards rushing on seven carries.
West Iron’s Nathan Camps completed 11 of 20 passes for 109 yards and Smith completed one pass for 34 yards. Seth Oberlin caught four passes for 70 yards and Smith caught five for 38 yards.
Donte White and Solomon Stubrud led the West Iron defense.
The Wykons host Bark River-Harris on Friday.
