Iron Mountain 25,
Manistique 8
Iron Mountain sophomore Quinton Doty returned a punt 50 yards for a touchdown and added two rushing scores as the Mountaineers posted a 25-8 win at Manistique on Friday.
“It is always good to get a win on the road,” said Iron Mountain coach Kyle Johnson. “Defensively we saw some things that we were happy with.”
Doty gained 70 yards in nine rushing attempts. Senior quarterback Brayden Kassin completed 2 of 5 for 51 yards.
With the win, the Mountaineers improved to 3-1 in the 11-player West-PAC Iron division. They’ll host Gwinn, 1-3 in the conference, on Friday.
“Just have to keep getting better week in and week out,” Johnson said. “We are looking forward to playing at home Friday night against Gwinn.”
