North Dickinson notched its third straight win of the season Friday, overwhelming Copper Island Academy of Calumet 46-12 in eight-player football at James D. Priestap Field in Felch Township.
North Dickinson (3-1) will play at Forest Park (3-1) at 6 p.m. Friday in Crystal Falls.
Nordics senior running back Jason Graham scored three touchdowns against the Eagles, the first a 61-yard pass from junior quarterback Luke Grunlund at 8:34 in the second quarter and twice on runs of 47 yards in the last 2 minutes of the first half and 33 yards at 8 minutes in the fourth quarter. Graham also threw a pass to wide receiver Trenton Kramer and caught one from Grunlund for 2-point conversions, both in the second quarter.
Grunlund’s 47-yard pass to Kramer at 5:47 in the first quarter opened North Dickinson’s scoring, but they missed the extra points. Kramer snagged a 12-yard touchdown in the third quarter as well.
Senior Xavier Remer and junior Malachi Gustafson had touchdown runs as well for the Nordics, of 14 yards in the second quarter and 23 yards in the fourth quarter, respectively.
Copper Island Academy scored touchdowns in the second and third quarters but both times failed on two-point conversions. The Eagles fall to 2-2 as they were unable to spoil the Nordics’ home opener. Grunlund finished 8 of 15 passing for 187 yards. The Nordics had 188 total yards rushing, led by Graham with 93 yards on eight carries.
Graham led on defense as well with 17 tackles, while Nathan Conery had 11 tackles and a sack.

Forest Park 22
Ishpeming handed Forest Park its first loss of the season Friday, breaking a 22-22 tie with 16 unanswered points at Dick Mettlach Field in Crystal Falls.
Lake Linden-Hubbell (4-0) now stands atop the Great Lakes Eight Conference-West standings, followed by Forest Park, Norway and North Central, all at 3-1. Ishpeming is 2-1 in the conference.
Lake Linden-Hubbell defeated visiting Norway 60-32 on Saturday and will host North Central this Saturday.
Norway will host Ontonagon for homecoming on Friday.
Forest Park’s Dax Huuki carried the ball 15 times for 52 yards and two TDs against Ishpeming. He also completed 2 of 3 passes for 62 yards and a TD.
Vic Giuliani completed 9 of 20 passes for 175 yards for the Trojans, but with two interceptions. He also rushed for 30 yards on eight attempts.
Forest Park’s Noah Starr caught 5 passes for 79 yards. Jon Giuliani had two receptions for 33 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown toss from Huuki.
Vic Giuliani had one catch for 41 yards.
Forest Park will host North Dickinson (3-1) on Friday in a non-conference game.

Niagara 0
Niagara went on the road shorthanded Friday after an injury and some illnesses during the week, and couldn’t crack the scoreboard against Sevastapol.
“We actually hung in there defensively against a really explosive team,” said Niagara coach Ben Laarman. “They scored three times on our defense with a couple of big plays and one short drive. The rest of their points were scored by their defense on three pick-sixes, including one on the last play of the game.”
The Badgers trailed 13-0 with less than 30 seconds left in the first half and moved inside the Pioneers’ 20. The hosts, however, picked off a pass and ran it back 90 yards for a touchdown to make it 20-0.
“We just couldn’t get our run game going against them, and we failed to connect when we had some opportunities to make big plays.” Laarman said. “The only thing we had some success on was short to intermediate passes, but as good as that looked at times it wasn’t enough to complete drives and find the end zone.”
Niagara’s Sawyer Rouse completed 11 of 19 passes for 67 yards. Owen Dunkes had seven catches for 30 yards and Jesse Wahlstrom rushed three times for 18 yards.
The Badgers (3-4) will host Goodman-Pembine (2-4) this Friday. The Patriots are coming off a 36-14 loss to Wild Rose.
