Niagara roared past Wausaukee 44-6 in Northeast Conference 8-player football Friday.

“Our kids came out and played fast, and they executed well for the most part,” said Niagara coach Ben Laarman. “We made a lot of big plays on both sides of the ball.”

The visiting Badgers raced to a 44-0 halftime lead.

Sawyer Rouse completed 4 of 6 passes for 175 yards, including an 84-yard scoring strike to Abain Patterson. Landon Sweig caught a 67-yard TD pass.

The rushing attack was led by Owen Dunkes, who had touchdown runs of 54 and 40 yards. Sweig added a 40-yard TD run and Jax Mott hit pay dirt from 31 yards.

Rouse scored two conversions, while Dunkes and Parker LaFave had one each.

Dunkes and Sweig were among the Badgers’ leading tacklers, joined by Mason Whaley and Myles Laarman.

Patterson snared an interception and LaFave recovered a fumble.

Niagara (5-4) hosts Lena-St. Thomas Aquinas (5-3) on Thursday to wrap up the regular season.
