Kingsford swept Iron Mountain 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-16) in rivalry volleyball Tuesday at Mountaineer Gym.
“Playing crosstown rivals is always a fun night for our community,” said Flivvers coach Jaclynn Kreider. “Tonight we were able to come together to support an Iron Mountain student battling cancer so it was extra special. These types of matches are so much more than volleyball and I love that we can use an athletic event to show love and kindness to others,” she said.
Kreider noted all team members contributed.
“All of our players show up and work hard every night in practice so when we are able to mix up the line up and have everyone contribute it’s a lot of fun,” she said.

North Dickinson traveled to Rapid River and defeated the Rockets 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 27-25) on Tuesday.
“Rapid River did a nice job keeping us out of system, but anytime your libero or your setter gets a kill that’s energizing for the whole team,” said Nordics coach Taylor Johnson. “I thought we did a nice job of using that energy to take control of the game and ultimately all three sets. It was a great team win on the road.”
