Kingsford fell behind in every set, but came through Thursday with a 3-0 volleyball sweep (25-16, 25-17, 25-14) hosting Gladstone.
“We found ways to get our offensive going after digging ourselves a hole,” said Kingsford coach Jaclynn Kreider. “Gladstone served extremely aggressive, which put us on our heels and gave them the early lead in all of the sets.”
The Flivvers improved to 17-3 and have a quadrangular match today at Forest Park. They’ll host Escanaba on Tuesday.
“When we are in system, we have some fantastic setter connections and fast-tempos plays that score us points,” Kreider said. “So it is going to be critical for us to clean up our serve receive so that we have those options on offense.”
Kingsford’s overall defense was solid against the Braves, Kreider said. “We still need to block better at the net and slow down the ball for our back row.”
