Iron Mountain’s Brett Ramme capped off his college golf career at Marian University finishing as his team’s top golfer at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship held at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wis.
After blustery conditions during the first two rounds, sunny skies and 80-degree temperatures greeted competitors during the final round on the par-72, 6,670-yard Meadow Valleys track.
Ramme went for an 82 and a 79 before moving up two spots with a 76 in the final round played on Oct. 12. Individually, five players posted rounds of par or better in the final round compared to just one combined during the first two rounds.
Ramme was a four-year starter for the Sabres. As captain, he led the way for Marian in two of the three rounds at the NACC tournament, finishing in a tie for 16th in a field of 53.
Marian University placed seventh in the nine-team tournament, which was won by Aurora University for a 10th straight year.
Ramme, son of Brad and Amy Ramme of Iron Mountain, will be graduating in the spring with a dual major in finance-accounting and a dual minor of marketing and management. He is a 2023 IMHS graduate.
