Kingsford’s 3-0 win at Marquette on Thursday delivered a Great Northern Conference volleyball championship, along with an undefeated conference season.
It marks the fourth straight season the Flivvers have reigned as undefeated conference champs.
The scores were 25-13, 25-18, 25-15.
“We have been so fortunate to have players that have bought into the expectations of our program and put the work in during the offseason,” said Kingsford coach Jacklynn Kreider. “I am grateful for the commitment we have had from our families and our coaching staff.”

Forest Park earned a convincing victory over North Dickinson on Thursday, 25-6, 25-8, 25-16.
“We struggled to find our rhythm in the first two sets, and a series of small, unforced errors quickly added up and put us in significant deficits,” said Nordics coach Taylor Johnson. “By the third set, we began to settle in and play more like ourselves, finding some momentum and putting together several strong offensive plays, including some nice kills.”
Forest Park is “a well-oiled machine” that capitalizes on opportunities, Johnson said.
“Defensively, we had some solid moments, but Josie Anderson was a strong offensive presence for Forest Park, and we struggled to contain her,” the Nordics coach added. “Freshman Carli Jungwirth had a solid performance for us, finishing with several impressive kills in the third set as we began to find our footing.”
The Trojans (33-4-1) are at Bark River-Harris on Thursday.
North Dickinson (17-12-4) will host Bark River-Harris on Tuesday and travel to Norway on Thursday.
North Dickinson stats:
Carli Jungwirth – 6 kills, 14 digs
Aunika Lindholm – 10 assists, 7 digs
Aspen Anderson – 1 kill, 1 ace, 7 digs
Kathryn Steinbrecher – 1 kill
Ella Rossi – 4 kills, 2 aces, 1 block, 2 digs
Khloe Roberts – 3 kills, 9 digs
Dalaney Steinbrecher – 22 digs
Norway 3,
Carney-Nadeau 0
Norway took down Carney in three sets Tuesday -- 25-12, 25-11, 26-24.
“The girls came out strong and our digs were right to our setter,” said Norway coach Meghan Rossato. “I was really happy with how the team came together and we were able to change some of our lineup to get exposure in other areas for our players.”
Allie Grable, who hasn't played front row since her freshman year, adjusted well, Rossato said.
“She knew exactly what to do and how to do it with a smile on her face. It was fun to see her change it up,” she said.
Rossato also credited the Wolves’ setter, Paige Jardeen, noting “she has a great set of hands and made some very impressive plays.”
The evening also featured the Little Knights exhibition game.
“Thank you to all of the ‘littles’ and parents for showing up and cheering them on,” Rossato said. “They did a great job.”
Norway (17-9-2) goes to Munising on Tuesday and hosts North Dickinson on Thursday.
