Forest Park hosted its Pink Out/Senior Night against West Iron County, prevailing 25-14, 25-21, 25-9.

“Chambers Gymnasium was filled with amazing energy, community support, and hope as we came together for one important mission -- raising money for our local cancer unit and supporting those affected by breast cancer,” said Lady Trojans coach Bobbie Anderson. “The support from our student body and community made the night truly special.”

On the court, Josie Anderson led the way with 17 kills, Vienna Price had 21 assists, and Lily Curnow, Harper Anderson and Evie Anderson paced the defense. Curnow had 15 digs while Harper Anderson and Evie Anderson each had 10.

“We played with energy, determination, and purpose from start to finish, which is exactly what we want to see at this point in the season,” coach Anderson said. “We did a fabulous job covering the floor, getting blocks and touches at the net, and serving aggressively.”

That serving made it difficult for the Wykons to run their offense and get their key hitters involved, Anderson said.

Forest Park also celebrated its three seniors: Tessa Bartoszek, Haven VanSickle and Vienna Price.

“It has been an absolute pleasure coaching these young ladies and watching them grow as volleyball players, leaders, and young women,” Anderson said. “Their time, effort, and dedication to this program are unmatched. They have played such an important role in building and sustaining the incredible volleyball program we have today, and I am beyond thankful for everything they have given to our team,” she said.

Forest Park plays at North Dickinson tonight.
