Norway hosted Bark River-Harris on Tuesday for Parents Night volleyball and swept three sets, 25-14, 25-17, 25-11.
Knights coach Meghan Rossato was pleased with the team’s performance. “They made some great plays and it was clear they were having fun and working as a united front,” she said.
Norway had a 90.4% serving average for the three sets, and ended at a .250 hitting average. Three players were all above .300 for kills -- Chloe Chartier, Addy Burklund and Kendall Burklund.
“This speaks to how consistent our setter Aili Freiberg is, and placing the ball in a manner that can be attacked and killed,” Rossato said.
Emilee Temrowski cleaned up in the back row with 14 digs. The front row was led by Chartier, three blocks, Addy Burklund, a block and nine kills, and Kendall Burklund, 10 kills.

Forest Park 3,
West Iron 1
West Iron prevented a Forest Park sweep with a win in the third set at Charles Greenlund Gymnasium on Tuesday in Iron River.
The scores in the Pink Out game were 25-9, 25-15, 18-25, 25-16.
“It's always a fun rivalry to be a part of -- the gym is packed, the energy is high, and you can feel the excitement from the first serve,” said Forest Park coach Bobbie Anderson.
In the first two sets, the Lady Trojans were hitting well, executing their game plan, and controlling all aspects of the match, Anderson said.
“The third set was a different story,” she said. “We lost our focus, struggled with unforced errors, got stressed, and started playing not to lose instead of playing to win. West Iron did a great job taking advantage of the momentum shift and feeding off our frustration and timidness.”
In the fourth set, Forest Park regained its momentum.
“We adjusted defensively, our hitters started swinging with confidence, and we battled our way back,” Anderson said. “A huge shoutout to Audrey Williams for her serving in the fourth set and to Harper Anderson, whose 10 kills helped turn things around.”
Josie Anderson led the attack with 22 kills. Adee Hagglund contributed 18 digs and Evie Anderson led in blocks.
Another key contributor was Aubrey Waara-Shamion, who added seven kills from the right side.
North Dickinson 3,
Stephenson 2
North Dickinson took the road Tuesday and came home with a 25-18, 18-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-8 decision over Stephenson.
“We struggled at the serving line and getting into an offensive rhythm,” said Nordics coach Taylor Johnson. “We didn’t play our best volleyball until the fifth set, but I’m proud of the girls for locking in and not letting this one get away from us. Stephenson was scrappy, and showed a lot of improvement since we had seen them earlier in tournaments.”
Johnson credited Kathryn Steinbrecher for a strong night at the net, with some smart hits and tough blocks.
North Dickinson stats:
Carli Jungwirth – 4 kills, 1 assist, 2 aces, 2 blocks, 22 digs
Aunika Lindholm – 2 kills, 17 assists, 1 block, 3 aces, 12 digs
Alle Brown – 1 dig
Aspen Anderson – 2 kills, 5 aces, 12 digs
Kathryn Steinbrecher – 7 kills, 4 blocks, and 1 dig
Ella Rossi – 3 kills, 4 aces, 3 blocks, 2 digs
Khloe Roberts – 5 kills, 1 ace, 10 digs
Dalaney Steinbrecher – 3 aces, 27 digs
Isabelle Kleiman – 1 assist
