Norway enters Week 8 of the prep football season with a 4-3 record, looking to add MHSAA playoff points with home games against Ishpeming tonight and again Friday, Oct. 23 against Stephenson.

The Knights lost 29-14 last week at North Central.

“Proud of the way our kids fought hard all game and continue to improve each week,” said Knights coach Andy Mendina. “North Central is a really good football team as always, and we were unable to overcome a slow start in the first half,” he said.

Against the Jets, Kaleb LaPine rushed 27 times for 141 yards. His touchdown run of 4 yards pulled the Knights to within 21-6 going into halftime.

The Knights’ final points came on a 9-yard pass from Tobi Anderson to LaPine, who ran for the conversion.

Anderson had Norway’s only success in the passing game, completing 4 of 8 for 51 yards, all to LaPine.

The Knights’ defense was led by Landon Ross, who had 17 tackles. Hunter Langin added seven tackles and LaPine totaled six tackles and an interception.
