HARRIS -- It was a tough ending to the regular volleyball season for the Bark River-Harris Broncos here Thursday as they fell to the second-ranked Forest Park Trojans 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-14).

The victory enabled the Trojans to secure their fifth consecutive Skyline Central Conference title, running their league winning streak to 43 matches.

“I think we have a lot of depth,” Trojans’ coach Bobbie Jo Anderson said. “We have strong hitters across the board. We have a lot of momentum going into the (Division 4) district. We played a lot of good teams. We did everything we could.”

The Broncos were within 13-10 following a kill by senior outside hitter/defensive specialist Carli Erickson in the third set on Senior Night.

The Broncos were trailing 20-14 prior to committing a service error before the Trojans sealed the verdict on three kills by junior outside hitter Harper Anderson and an additional kill by junior middle hitter Evie Anderson.

“They are well coached,” BR-H coach Brooke Bartley said. “They have a good feeder program. Their junior high program definitely helps them prepare their girls for varsity. They run a very uptempo offense.”

In the second set, the Trojans gained a 13-3 cushion on a service ace by sophomore setter/outside hitter Adee Hagglund.

BR-H got within 14-7 on a kill by junior setter Alana Nault.

Forest Park then began to pull away, stretching its advantage to 20-8 on an ace by Harper Anderson.

The Broncos shaved their deficit to 20-10 before committing a net violation.

After the sideout, the Trojans closed that set on a kill by sophomore middle hitter Josie Anderson.

Josie Anderson collected 14 kills with half of those coming in the first set.

BR-H senior outside hitter Alexis Olson served for an ace, tying the score at six in that set.

A kill by Harper Anderson gave Forest Park a sideout and Evie Anderson provided the Trojans with a five-point service run for a 12-6 cushion.

The Trojans closed the opener on a Broncos’ hitting error.

Norway 3,

North Dickinson 0

Norway prevailed at home on Senior Night on Thursday, winning 25-23, 25-20, 25-13 over North Dickinson.

“After coming off of Aili Freiberg's career 1,000 assists she was able to make that connection again with her hitters,” said Norway coach Meghan Rossato.

The Knights’ overall hitting percentage was .119 and Kendall Burklund posted a .382 with 16 kills.

“All of this wouldn't be possible without a solid serve receive and defense game which was much cleaner,” Rossato said. “For our Senior Night, everyone had an impressive play and as a coach I couldn't ask for more. Our middles are doing a fantastic job of blocking and playing aggressively as well as our defense reading the attack and setting these plays up.”

Norway stats:

Addy Burklund, 1 ace, 7 kills, 2 assists, 5 digs

Kendall Burklund, 3 aces, 16 kills, 1 assist, 14 digs
