Hunting in early February on the southern end of New Zealand’s North Island, John “Jack” Maki of Breitung Township harvested a 36-point red stag. The stag, taken with a steep downhill shot of 260 yards, has a 55-inch spread and a preliminary Safari Club International score of 462.
