Trap shooters compete at Long Lake range

LONG LAKE, Wis. –The Big 4 Plus Sportsman’s Club had its annual spring 50-bird Lewis Class shoot at its clubhouse in Long Lake on April 27.

Cold, wintry weather hampered attendance, but 21 shooters accepted the challenge. The shoot paid out five classes and various optional categories for cash amounts. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot-offs.

The class winners, all from Wisconsin, and their scores were: Bill Kramer, Lena, 50; Ed Borske, Alvin, 47; Andy Favour, Suamico, 42; Tyler Niehaus, Florence, 38; and Tom Prebost, Green Bay, 36.

There also was a consolation event for scores of 35 and lower. Ben Niehaus of Florence took home the prize.

In other results, Ed Borske took 25 straight on traps one and two and Bill Kramer was high gun.

Josie McHugh from Newald captured the ladies prize.

The club’s next competition will be during the annual membership picnic on July 20. A fall Lewis Class shoot is scheduled for Sept. 21.
