Fall turkey applications due Aug. 1
MARQUETTE – If you’re planning on doing some turkey hunting in Michigan this fall, the application period closes Aug. 1.
Hunters may apply for one limited-quota license for a specific hunt unit. The application fee is $5.
Applicants successful in the draw may then purchase a limited-quota license. A base license is also required.
Hunters unsuccessful in the draw will have the opportunity to purchase leftover licenses in hunt units where they are available. Hunters may purchase one license a day until quotas are met.
The Upper Peninsula hunt is Sept. 15 through Nov. 14 with a maximum license quota of 1,500.
The bag limit is one turkey of any sex per fall turkey license.
