Hermansville — District 3 of the U.P. Trappers Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Sportsman’s Club in Hermansville.

Part of the club’s mission is to educate the general public on the benefits of trapping and to educate youngsters and even experienced trappers on trapping in a safe, humane, and effective way.

On Thursday, trapper Ken Luedtke will offer tips on catching beaver through the ice. Even several of the experienced winter trappers attending Luedtke’s demonstration at this year’s U.P. Trappers convention in Escanaba were anxious to put his time-saving and catch-increasing tips to work on their own traplines.
