Trap shooters earn prizes

LONG LAKE, Wis. – The Big 4-Plus Sportsman’s Club handed out prizes in five classes in a trap shoot during the club’s annual picnic.

The 50-Bird Lewis Shoot had 40 entries, with each class winning $56.

Ties were broken by sudden death shoot-offs. The winners and their scores were:

— Jeremy Streu, Long Lake, 49.

— Jaden Streu, Long Lake, 47.

— Harry Welhouse, Two Rivers, Wis., 46.

— Ricky Olinger, 43.

— JoAnne Smith, Tipler, Wis., 40.

Paul Myers of West Bend, Wis., won $40 in the consolation shoot.

Lewis class shooters could also play options, which paid $72 each. Ties were broken by sudden death shoot-offs. Jaden Streu won 25 straight on trap 1 and Robert Baker of Pennsylvania won 25 straight on trap 2.

Jeremy Streu was high gun with a 49. Rea Dorzok of New Holstein, Wis., won the ladies high gun category with a 44.

Numerous steak, bacon and ribs competitions were held resulting in spirited shoot-offs.

The club thanks everyone who helped make this year’s picnic a success, said Smith, treasurer.

“A special thanks goes to the volunteer workers and also the businesses who donated prizes and help to sell raffle tickets,” she added.
