Natural Resources Commission to meet Thursday in Marquette

MARQUETTE — The Michigan Natural Resources Commission will meet Thursday in Marquette, starting at 9 a.m. Eastern time in NC Peninsula Room II at Northern Michigan University, 1401 Presque Isle Ave.

There will be updates on U.P. wildlife habitat, wolf management and spring turkey regulations.

The public is welcome to enjoy “Coffee with the Commissioners” from 8 to 9 a.m. Eastern time, also in NC Peninsula Room II.

The NRC meeting will follow a joint meeting Wednesday afternoon of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Western and Eastern Upper Peninsula Citizens’ Advisory Councils. The panels will meet from 3 to 5 p.m. Eastern time at the Presque Isle Pavilion, 3 Peter White Drive, Marquette.

The group is scheduled to receive updates on road and trail easements to public and private lands, potential trail closures across the U.P., mandatory deer harvest reporting, the DNR mobile app, and U.P. shooting range developments.
