FLORENCE, Wis. — The entire Florence County snowmobile and ATV/UTV trail system will be closed effective 12:01 a.m. Friday, officials said.

Winter groomer operations will end per state grooming contracts. This closure will also help to protect deteriorating trail conditions from erosion during spring break-up.

ATV/UTV trails will re-open when trail conditions become favorable at some point in May.

“A special thank you goes out to the Florence County Blue Ox Trail Riders and all of those that have worked together to assure another enjoyable season,” the Florence County Forestry and Parks Department stated.
