CRYSTAL FALLS — Two Iron County 4-H clubs — the Artemis Archers and Sharpshooters — attended an Upper Peninsula regional competition in Escanaba, earning numerous awards.

The event was held at the Great Lakes Sports Club and put together by the Delta County Michigan State University-Extension. Youth from Delta, Luce and Iron counties competed in two disciplines, BB gun and archery.

Each discipline had beginner, junior, and senior level. In addition, each discipline had a team competition.

The team competitions are scored based on the individual scores combined to make a composite score. In some instances, mixed teams from separate counties were combined in order to form a team.

At the end of the tournament, the Iron County 4-H Artemis Archers walked away with a total of 20 medals combined. The Artemis Archers are coached by Barbara Luck, along with volunteer Ericka Gursky and club reporter Elizabeth Gursky.

The Iron County Sharpshooters are led by Douglas Wessner and Greg Scott.
