Pure Michigan hunter

Robert Beaudry of Kingsford harvested a 218-pound bear in Amasa on Sept. 7, assisted by Joe Bottesi of Hardcore Scriptures Outdoors. Beaudry got his bear license as a 2023 Pure Michigan Hunt winner — the first-ever winner from the Upper Peninsula. Along with a collection of gifts, his prize package included licenses to hunt elk, spring and fall turkey and antlerless deer, as well as first pick at a managed waterfowl area for a reserved hunt. “Dream of lifetime,” Beaudry said. “It all started with a $5 entry for a Pure Michigan Hunt in August 2022.” Applications for the January 2024 drawing are on sale through Dec. 31.

Starting at $3.50/week.
