MARQUETTE –The Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Becoming an Outdoors Woman program will offer a Beyond BOW event this month in Marquette County.

The BOW program gives women, 18 and older, an opportunity to improve their outdoor skills in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere. Classes offer instruction on important outdoor skills, safety and appropriate outdoor clothing attire.

A sunset hike will be held at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Participants will meet at a trailhead about 5 miles outside of Marquette. You must have a Recreation Passport or State of Michigan day pass to park.

The hike will cover 2 to 3 miles and a headlamp is required.
