Sportsman’s dinner event March 16
IRON MOUNTAIN — The 26th annual Sportsman’s Seminar and Supper will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Iron Mountain Central Middle School gym and cafeteria, 300 W. Hughitt St.
Seminars and displays will be featured until 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 5:15 p.m. Ross Crowe will be the speaker at 6:15 p.m., discussing “Meaningful Fishing.”
The event is sponsored and promoted by Family Baptist Church in Kingsford. The seminars and dinner are free, but a free-will offering is appreciated.
There will also be door prizes for those present.
Seminars include “Panfish Essentials” by Crowe from 3 to 4 p.m. and “Wildlife Management in the U.P.” by Bill Scullon of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources from 4 to 5 p.m.
Merlin Calkins will offer a traditional bow archery range and there will be a hands-on fly casting clinic.
A variety of displays will be offered, including mammals of the wild, archery hunting, maple syrup making, essential knots, fish carvings, muzzleloading, hand-made baits and walleye fishing.
Representatives of United Sportsmen Inc. and U.P. Trappers Association will also be on hand.
