IRON MOUNTAIN — This time of year is a border resident’s delight.

Today and Sunday is the annual Free Fun Weekend in Wisconsin, which means state park admission fees, fishing licenses and trail passes are waived for both residents and nonresidents.

Next weekend is Three Free Weekend in Michigan.

On June 13 and 14, Michigan residents and out-of-state visitors can grab a fishing rod, ride the off-road trails and visit state parks, boating access sites and other outdoor locations – all free of charge.

During free fishing weekends, all other fishing regulations apply.
