Playing at home, Elk Rapids defeated Kingsford 5-0 on Saturday to claim the MHSAA Division 3 District 33 title. Kingsford ended its season at 11-5-2 while Elk Rapids improved to 19-1-3. The Elks defeated the Flivvers 4-0 in the district final a year ago and 4-0 in a regional final in 2024 when they were the state runner-up. The Flivvers did get the best of Elk Rapids in 2023, winning a district semifinal 3-2 in a shootout.
