Some thoughts on the hospital

It doesn’t seem that borrowing $30 million should be considered “restructuring.” It seems that is about the same amount it took to build the hospital the first time around. For the same amount, it seems a whole new facility could be built that might actually better meet the needs of the area. Have any of the hospital administrators seen downtown Iron Mountain? This is not a wealthy area. The first “new” hospital to be built was too big and too grand for our poor, rural area.

And we live in a small area. The hospital is a rumor mill in and of itself. Employees blame the fact that we live in “a small area” for their knowledge of our business. That is why we shop elsewhere for health care. We may not want our neighbors knowing our health care business. Many of us have had our privacy violated by hospital employees. We may be just one person and it may be just one incident. But even just one incident involving even just one person should justify a termination. In the meantime, we will shop elsewhere.
