Almost everyone has been horrified by the recent surge of mass shootings; and many have urged the removal and/or restriction of private gun ownership as a solution.

But that is not the solution, because the gun is not the problem. It is the person who owns and/or uses the gun against some other or others that is the problem.

It is the person who needs to be controlled. And there are only two ways human beings can be controlled: externally and internally.

Gun control, knife control, baseball bat control, fist/hand control would not work, because it is an internal problem.

And the Great Lawgiver — God himself — has given us these internal controls:

1. Love God.

2. Love your neighbors as yourself.

3. Love one another as I have loved you.

If we will obey those laws (commandments), we will not hurt or kill anyone.
