Donation to VA

Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center Chief of Voluntary Service Katie Maxon accepts a $4,267 check from Super One Foods Store Manager Matt Chellew to support the VA’s Hospice and Butterfly Wish Programs. The donation was a result of funds raised in November during Super One Food’s Register Campaign, which allows shoppers to round up or donate to a special cause. The hospice fund supports the purchase of comfort items for veterans, like neck pillows, large button speaker phones, special meals, Burt’s Bees chapstick and soothing peppermint foot lotion for hospice patients in the VA Community Living Center. The Butterfly Wish Program grants wishes for home-based and inpatient hospice patients, allowing the VA to fulfill final wishes, like one more trip to camp or a special party with family and loved ones.
