Ruesch book-signing event at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church

Heather Ruesch

KINGSFORD — Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Kingsford will have a book-signing and presentation featuring local author and life-issues speaker Heather Ruesch at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Ruesch’s book, titled “Sexuality Mentality: Creating a Culture of Biblical Integrity,” equips parents, pastors, teachers and youth workers to have honest conversations about sexual integrity with teens.

“If a child was reaching for a hot stove, we would try to stop them before they got hurt, right?” Ruesch said. “There’s a reason we seek to stop a child from getting burned and that reason never gets old or outdated or irrelevant. So it is with biblical sexual integrity. We’ll save (our children) a lot of heartache when we tell them the truth: sex is anything but casual.”

Since graduating from Florence High School in 1998, Ruesch has established herself in the field of youth ministry, abstinence education and the advocacy of human life. She is an abstinence educator, certified pregnancy center advocate and has served as executive director of crisis pregnancy centers.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and are $15 each. Ruesch will be available to sign books at 10 a.m., with a presentation on the book and question-and-answer session at 11 a.m. “Sexuality Mentality” also is available for purchase online through Concordia Publishing House at cph.org and on Amazon.
