ALPHA — The Crystal Falls Lions Club will host a White Cane Fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Alpha Brewing Co. in Alpha. Prime rib and pulled pork sandwiches on a Kaiser roll with cole slaw will be the featured meals, along with hot dogs and french fries. Alpha Brewing will have refreshments available as well. IRON MOUNTAIN — The First Methodist Women will host their annual Cornish Market from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The “taste” of their heritage will start at 9 a.m. at First Global Methodist Church, 106 Fourth St. in Iron Mountain. They will offer old Cornish recipes, including saffron buns, seedy buns, jelly tarts, heavy cake and Cousin Jack cookies, along with mini-pasties made by the group. SAGOLA — A non-profit Funday Horse Show, hosted by Clover Kids Friends Society, will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, at Blue Spruce Stables, W8793 Johnson Lane in Sagola. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with show starting at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $25 per class. Age division are 12 and younger; 13 to 19; and 20 and older. Classes in order are: egg and spoon; barrels; flag; plug; apples and crackers, 12 and younger; ribbon race; keyhole; handy horse; and stick pony, 12 and younger. EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — The Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods will have its first fall meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Kalmar Community Center, 1011 N. Railroad St. in Eagle River. Dawn Brogle of Eagle River will present a program on royalty with dolls representing kings, queens, princes and princesses, real and fictional. Attendees are invited to come to the meeting, wearing their tiaras and sharing their royal dolls as well.
