Bay College retirees party on Tuesday

GLADSTONE — This year’s annual Bay College retirees party/tea will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bradfield’s Bush, 2992 Blacksmith 20.5 Lane in Gladstone. Spouses and partners of Bay College employees — including board members, support personnel, instructors, administrations and those who worked at Bay College in any capacity, either full or part time — are invited as well. Paisano dinner on Sept. 10

SPREAD EAGLE, Wis. — The 2023 U.P. Paisano Club Convocation chicken and spaghetti dinner is planned for Sunday, Sept. 10, at the El Capitan Supper Club in Spread Eagle, Wis. The dinner will immediately follow the 11 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Cost is $20 per person. Northwoods Geology Club to gather Aug. 23

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center. Eric Jensen, Ph.D., will give a presentation titled “Geology and History of Florence County.” Jensen is an exploration geologist with 30 years of experience. Currently he is general manager of exploration for EMX Royalty Corp. All ages are welcome to attend the meeting and presentation. A drawing for door prizes takes place at the end of the meetings. No dues are required, but donations are always appreciated.

Sons of Legion picnic Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Sons of the American Legion Post 50 will host a picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the top of Pine Mountain. The menu includes brats, potato salad, sweet corn and beverages. A band will play from 2 to 5 p.m. All Legion family members are invited to attend.
