IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the fellowship room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.
A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Members are encouraged to bring up to five lots for the auction, and the club will also auction lots of recently acquired stamps.

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Wild Rivers Quilt Guild will have its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 900 Central Ave. in Florence.
The evening will feature demonstrations in English paper piecing and hand- and machine-sewn applique methods. Kathy Friberg of Florence will give a demonstration on English paper piecing, which involves folding fabric around templates and hand sewing them together.
