Paisano dinner on Sept. 10

SPREAD EAGLE, Wis. — The 2023 U.P. Paisano Club Convocation chicken and spaghetti dinner is planned for Sunday, Sept. 10, at the El Capitan Supper Club in Spread Eagle, Wis. The dinner will immediately follow the 11 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Cost is $20 per person. Northwoods Geology Club to gather Aug. 23

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center. Eric Jensen, Ph.D., will give a presentation titled “Geology and History of Florence County.” Jensen is an exploration geologist with 30 years of experience. Currently he is general manager of exploration for EMX Royalty Corp. All ages are welcome to attend the meeting and presentation. A drawing for door prizes takes place at the end of the meetings. No dues are required, but donations are always appreciated.

Sons of Legion picnic Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Sons of the American Legion Post 50 will host a picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the top of Pine Mountain. The menu includes brats, potato salad, sweet corn and beverages. A band will play from 2 to 5 p.m. All Legion family members are invited to attend.

100-Plus Women Who Care group to gather on Monday

IRON MOUNTAIN — 100-Plus Women Who Care in Dickinson County will have its 33rd meeting Monday, Aug. 14, at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain. From December 2012 to May 2023, 100-Plus Women has raised approximately $667,000 for local charities and organizations. Registration for the meeting will be from 5 to 6 p.m., with the meeting beginning promptly at 6. Individuals will register by their last names and team members can check in under their captain’s name. Norway museum event Aug. 19

NORWAY — The Jake Menghini Historical Museum Partners of Norway presents “From the U.P. to the Yukon: The Saga of Klondike Mike and Norway’s O’Callaghan Family” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, in the lower chambers of Norway’s City Hall. Carol Sundstrom will give a lecture with a PowerPoint presentation. Donation will be taken for museum operations. Regular museum hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Tours are $5 for adults and free for children in 12th grade and younger.
