Doll club to meet Thursday

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — The Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods will have its November meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Kalmar Senior Center, 1011 Railroad St. in Eagle River. The topic of the meeting will be boy dolls. From Raggedy Andy to Ken and G.I. Joe to American Girl’s Logan, boy dolls have intrigued children and doll collectors. Members of the doll club will share boy dolls in their collections and tell their stories. Guests are welcomed to share their boy dolls as well. Stamp club schedules meeting on Nov. 19

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the fellowship room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain, between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Post 50 fish fry on Friday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the hall. The dinners will include a choice of three pieces of cod or eight fried shrimp, along with fries, baked beans and cole slaw. Cost is $14 per plate. Dine-in or take out is available.
