CF Lions’ White Cane Fundraiser set for Oct. 3

ALPHA — The Crystal Falls Lions Club will host a White Cane Fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Alpha Brewing Co. in Alpha. Prime rib and pulled pork sandwiches on a Kaiser roll with cole slaw will be the featured meals, along with hot dogs and french fries. Alpha Brewing will have refreshments available as well. Cornish Market set for Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The First Methodist Women will host their annual Cornish Market from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The “taste” of their heritage will start at 9 a.m. at First Global Methodist Church, 106 Fourth St. in Iron Mountain. They will offer old Cornish recipes, including saffron buns, seedy buns, jelly tarts, heavy cake and Cousin Jack cookies, along with mini-pasties made by the group.
