DCCC sets rehearsals for annual holiday concert
KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Community Chorus will begin rehearsing Tuesday, Sept. 8, for the upcoming “Sounds of Christmas” concert. Rehearsals will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford. There are no formal auditions, but prospective new members should possess some knowledge of choral singing. Those new to the group are asked to arrive early so vocal ranges can be checked. ‘Let’s Talk Gardening’ classes set
MARINETTE, Wis. — Northern Lights Master Gardeners and the Marinette Senior Center will continue a summer-long series of gardening classes called “Let’s Talk Gardening” on Wednesday at the center, 1603 Ludington St. in Marinette. These classes take place at 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. The final class this year will be Wednesday, Oct. 7. IC Genealogical Society meets Thursday
IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the J. Patrick White conference room of the West Iron District Library in Iron River. Iron Baraga Conservation District District Manager Jennifer Ann Ricker-Feak will share history on the conservation district, other districts and the dust bowl era, along with current projects.
